What is the difference between KIM and TIM?
KIM is a secure email inbox; TIM is a secure messenger for fast communication. TIM is used as a complement to KIM.
Is it really safe to run the messenger on private devices?
Yes. The app runs in a sandbox and no data is stored on private devices. The screenshot function is disabled. To take and send a photo, there is a built-in capture function inside the app. A PIN lock for the Famedly app is enabled automatically if the user does not already use a global PIN lock on their smartphone.
On which devices is the application available?
We recommend using a mobile device. However, there are also two ways to run the app on a computer: through your web browser as a web app, or as a desktop app.
Does the messenger also work without a TI connection?
Yes. For internal business communication, the Famedly Messenger can also be used without a connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI). However, we recommend connecting to the TI, as this makes communication and administration even easier and more efficient.

Yes. From the very beginning, Famedly has taken into account all relevant data protection requirements when developing the solution, and therefore meets the requirements of the GDPR in full. Famedly was the first provider to receive gematik approval for its TI-Messenger. This ensures, on one hand, that all data protection and information security aspects are fully addressed, and on the other hand, that interoperability between different TI-Messenger providers is guaranteed.
